We started Legend Popping Corks, LLC in 2013, and 'The Legend' was our only product, a fishing bobber featuring a hard plastic body & buckshot pellets inside, designed to imitate the sounds of baitfish feeding at the surface. We originally sold only this one type of fishing bobber, but soon started making some modified corks based on ideas & requests.
Our first modified popping cork, the 'Heavy Hitter' features a harder hitting, clacking internal noise.
There's a commonly held belief that darkest colored fishing bobbers are most difficult for fish to see, especially when night fishing. Many argue this is untrue, but after receiving requests for a black popping cork, we began making the 'Urban Legend'. Featuring the same, hard-hitting internal sound as the 'Heavy Hitter' - this float is only available in black. (note this photo shows metal end-ties, which we no longer offer)
Our 'ET 007' cork, named under a request / collaboration with Erick Thompson - features no added internal noise. This float is designed for stealth & has repeatedly proven to be highly effective when fishing in calm weather or when wade fishing along shorelines.
Our newest addition, the 'Midnight Rodeo' internally has the rattling noise of 'The Legend' along with the hard hitting, clacking noise of the 'Heavy Hitter'. This is the ultimate noisemaker.
We've taken a classic rig, commonly known as the "lemon rig", and brought it up to date with our Dagger 1 & Dagger 2. A lemon rig is a classic fishing rig make with a lemon juice bottle as the bobber. These rigs have had incredible results when used with live bait.
The Dagger 1 uses 'The Legend' corks while the Dagger 2 uses 'Heavy Hitter' corks. Each Dagger rig is hand tied in Texas.
The Hooking Bulls rig is our newest product. We recommend using shrimp tails for bait with this setup. The rig includes your choice of any Legend Popping Cork we have available, and features a small treble hook.
Unlike 'The Dagger' rig, with this setup, your fishing line connects to the top of the cork.
