When we started Legend Popping Corks in 2013, The Legend was our only product, a redesign of a classic fishing bobber from the 1970s featuring a hard plastic body & buckshot pellets inside, designed to imitate the sound of baitfish feeding at the surface. We originally sold only this one type of fishing bobber, but we've since started making some modified corks based on ideas & requests.
Our first modified cork was the 'Heavy Hitter'. For a harder hitting noise, we make these with 2 larger pieces of lead inside- rod action creates a harder hitting, clacking noise.
There's a popular belief that darker colored fishing bobbers are harder for fish to see, especially fishing at night. This bobber has the same, hard-hitting internal sound as the 'Heavy Hitter' but is only available in black.
Our 'ET 007' cork, named for our collaboration with Erick Thompson (see: sponsors & pro staff), has no added internal noise. The 'ET 007' is design for stealth & works exceptionally well when fishing during calm weather or for wade fishing along shorelines.
Lastly, but definitely not least is the ultimate noisemaker. The 'Midnight Rodeo' features an off-colored top & internally has the buckshot pellets of 'The Legend' combined with the heavy lead found in our 'Heavy Hitter'.
We've taken a classic rig, commonly known as the "lemon rig", and brought it up to date with our Dagger 1 & Dagger 2. These rigs have had incredible results when used with live bait. A lemon rig is a classic fishing rig make with a lemon juice bottle as the bobber.
The Dagger 1 uses 'The Legend' corks while the Dagger 2 uses 'Heavy Hitter' corks. Each Dagger system is hand tied in Texas.
The Hooking Bulls rig is our newest product. We recommend using shrimp tails for bait with this setup. The rig includes your choice of any Legend Popping Cork we have available, and features a small treble hook.
Unlike 'The Dagger' rig, with this setup, your fishing line connects to the top of the cork.
